In Issue 4 of Bangla Couple, what starts as a simple trip to the hat bazar takes a sharp left turn when Anika spots the most adorable goat she's ever seen. One look into those big brown eyes and her mind is made up — Montu is coming home. Zayan, holding an empty wallet and rapidly shrinking patience, points out they came here for vegetables and somehow ended up with "a four-legged lawnmower."
Montu, for his part, wastes no time making himself at home — starting with nibbling on Zayan's shirt. Anika insists this is affection. Zayan insists this is property damage. Nobody asks Montu. The rickshaw ride home is pure chaos: Montu on Zayan's lap, slobbering lovingly while Anika takes selfies. The rickshaw puller demands a separate ticket for the goat. Zayan quietly contemplates his life choices as Anika coos, "Smile, Zayan! Montu is doing his best Blue Steel look!"
The real disaster arrives when they get home. Neighbours stare, the building aunties are already scandalised, and someone asks if Zayan got a new roommate. Within two minutes of arriving, they're nearly evicted. Anika's solution? Put Montu on the balcony. Zayan's prediction? By tomorrow morning, Montu will have the bedroom and Zayan will be tied to the railing. Knowing Anika, he's probably right.
